Weekly Smoke & Bourbon: 07/14/19 – 07/20/19

This week we are doing a pairing of the sweet Knob Creek Smoked Maple whiskey and an Ave Maria Divinia cigar as our smoke.

“I smoke in moderation. Only one cigar at a time.”

Mark Twain

Overall Impressions

This pairing creates a nice flavor profile for me personally, I enjoy the slightly fuller bodied notes from the Divinia synergizing with the lightly sweetened maple flavors of the Knob Creek. Excellent pairing for my palate.

The Cigar: (Ave Maria Divinia)

The Ave Maria Divinia is a great stick. If you have yet to try one, I would recommend you add one to your collection. This smoke will provide you with hints of black pepper, coffee, and a nutty sweetness. This cigar falls within a medium to full bodied profile, yet remains a light and smooth smoke.

The Intoxicant: (Knob Creek Smoked Maple)

If you haven’t tried a flavored bourbon of some type with your favorite smoke of choice yet then I recommend you experiment around with different alcoholic flavors and see if you find one that pairs nicely.

Vibe: “Chill Mindset”

I started out this day feeling a little stressed out, trying to keep all the plates of life spinning in the air without dropping them. After sipping a little bit of this smooth whiskey, I have come to the conclusion that the bigger picture is sometimes more important than the one thing that is standing directly in our way.

Every puff of this cigar is just another minute I am alive on this earth and moving forward on the journey of life, whether I like it or not. The way I see it, when you come to a cross roads in life, there are two options: Right or Left. Which you may choose is up to you, but once the choice is made there is no going back, only continuing down the path.

You may decide that you went the wrong way, then you cut across the middle to the other path, but the important thing is to learn from the misdirection. Pull out your compass and map, and change direction.

If you don’t like the direction your life is headed, change it. Try something new, go out of your comfort zone and make yourself a better person.

Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Thomas A. Edison

Failure is unavoidable, learn from it and change your course of direction.

Don’t forget: Sip a smooth bourbon and puff a cigar while you are doing it.
