Weekly Smoke & Bourbon: 07/21/19 – 07/27/19

This week’s pairing consists of all things smooth with Angels Envy as our whiskey accompanied by an Avo Domaine cigar.

“The best cigar in the world is the one you prefer to smoke on special occasions, enabling you to relax and enjoy that which gives you maximum pleasure.”

Zino Davidoff

Overall Impressions:

The spicy subtle smoke of the Avo Domaine was a good contrast to the sweet hint of vanilla in the Angels Envy. The soft flavor profile of the smoke is enough to compliment the rich flavor of the whiskey without being overpowering.

The Cigar: (Avo Domaine)

The Avo Domaine is made of a Sun-grown Connecticut wrapper from Ecuador, with a Dominican long-fillers and binder. This cigar offers a subtle spicy flavor with earthy notes. The Avo has a very light smoke and smooth draw which makes it a great choice for a relaxing evening smoke.

The Intoxicant: (Angel’s Envy)

Angel’s Envy is a very satisfying and subtle whiskey. It is very easy to drink and provides a satisfying vanilla/syrup flavor. This is one of my favorite whiskeys and I would highly recommend picking up a bottle.

Vibe: (“Grateful Mindset”)

This week I found myself feeling a little disappointed that I never seemed to have enough time to do the things I wanted to do anymore. Every day seemed to go by faster than the next and I knew that soon my free time would be over and it would be time for work again.

Once I began taking in a few very smooth sips of Angel’s Envy I started to really slow down and appreciate where I am in life. The subtle sweet flavors of the intoxicant made me realize how grateful I am for the little moments like this. As I took in another smooth draw of the avo, my anxious thoughts about the next workday slowly disappeared with the smoke.

Sometimes you may feel like you are stuck in a routine with no time for anything you wanna do. These times often help us appreciate the good times we have in life.

When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.
