Extended Controls Kit for Glock – Glock Store

In my search for an extended slide release for my Gen 4 Glock 19, I found this complete extended controls kit from the Glock Store. Working on making some additions to my “Gucci Glock” build, they have this kit in Titanium Nitride as well to add a little bit of shine and match my barrel. Added the kit to my cart and awaited it’s arrival at my door step.

Gucci Glock” Build

What Comes in the Kit?

  • Extended Slide Lock
  • Trigger Pin
  • Trigger Housing Pin
  • Locking Block Pin
  • OEM Extended Slide Stop Lever.

The gold pins in this kit are Titanium Nitride, so they pair well with the Agency Arms Match Barrel also in Titanium Nitride. (Review of the barrel coming soon). (TLR8 Weapon Light Review Here)

As far as wear goes, I have been running this kit on my EDC (Everyday Carry) Glock for the last month, and I haven’t noticed any wear on the controls themselves up to this point.

Slide Release

Note: Only the very edge of the stock slide release is available to push down when installed.

The function of the control kit is awesome. The extended slide release is amazing. Definitely a really nice upgrade to put on your Glock if you want to make it easier to release the slide. Another perk is those with less thumb strength can much more comfortably release the slide with this upgrade. My girlfriend now has no issue manipulating the slide since I added this kit.

The pins themselves don’t seem to add anything in the way of rigidity to the firearm, so the added colors to the looks of the gun is about all that you will notice here.

Slide Lock (Slide Removal Tabs)

These do actually provide some benefit over stock. They are much pointer and easier to get ahold of to pull down when removing the slide. Also, they are 3mm longer than stock. Not a major improvement over stock but still something I deem worthy of noting. If you have issues with holding the tabs down on a stock Glock then these may be worth looking into for your build.

Notice the lack of rounded edges on the extended controls kit – Provides more grip.

Overall Impressions

Overall I like this kit, and I think it was a good addition to my Glock build. If you are looking for a colored kit to complete your build or add a little flare to it then I think this is a great option.

If you are just looking for some minor performance improvements for your Glock and you don’t want a flashy Glock then I would recommend picking up just the extended slide release in the factory black and call it a day. (Extended slide release link for you Gen 5 Glock guys)

In my opinion, the “slide removal tabs” (extended slide lock), do not warrant the purchase of this kit. However, it is a nice addition to the rest of the kit. I think they are an improvement over factory, but not by much. If you are interested in buying them separate, click here. Gen5 guys, this one is for you.

I was curious if you ever thought of changing
the page layout of your site? Its very well written; I love
what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more
in the way of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
